It's all about mileage

At last

Well i'm back at last, the new house is finally sorted (well, almost).

Work has been a right pain in the backside lately, we started a new route and we have no running time to do it in. We get less than 35 minutes to get from one end to the other and considering the other end is Lakeside we don't stand a chance. So we run round late all day even after we have been turned, i finished over an hour late on Friday believe me i was not a happy bunny.

On the home front most of my time is now devoted to my models. I know have a purpose built model room with lots of natural light and display cupboards and a nice big worktop.

I have been nominated for the union chairman's post at the garage, so that could be interesting and i have applied to become the garage driving 'mentor' (or should that be 'mental' ?).

As i don't have Internet access at the moment i'm having to use my dongle thingy, in fact as i'm writing this it has just giving me a message saying that i am up to my limit and will have to pay extra charges until the 23rd april.

SO ON THAT NOTE I'M OUTTA HERE !

I'm still here

Sorry just been too busy for anything other than work and sleep at the moment. Hopefully it will all get back to normal next week after i move house again, yes AGAIN !

I start my holiday after todays very short shift (1530 - 2126) and i won't be back for 11 days.

Not much going on

All quiet on the eastern front. We are still having problems with the buses at the moment, and we have loads of new drivers.

I have been sent out to do my route learning for the new route starting in March, the buses have been ordered but have not arrived yet. Since West ham garage took the optare Tempra's we will be using the Enviro 200's.

The one thing that has stood out for me recently is the damage on our buses, it may be a coincidence that it has all happened since the arrival of the new drivers, personally i don't think it is a coincidence.

My mum is on a Caribbean cruise at the moment and she keeps sending me back pictures of her trip. This picture was taken on Grand turk after all 3000 people on board her ship (the larger of the two) had come ashore for a barbecue on the beach.

Sorry everybody

I wish to apologize for causing chaos last week in the middle of upminster. I know some of you car drivers thought that i had just decided to park across the whole junction but believe me i would have moved the bus if i could have.

Don't upset me or thing's like this will happen

My last trip on Sunday night a male in his twenty's gets on the bus and starts moaning at me, he has no money , no money on his oyster card and wants to get to Barking. I explain that he is going the wrong way but he is adamant that he knows where he is going, so after swearing at me and asking me a number of times if i would like a fight, i carry on towards the end of the route totally ignoring this stupid idiot all the while hatching a plan to get my own back.

As i pulled up to the last stop he comes up to me shouting and swearing still so i turn on the charm and play a bit dumb. "oh sorry mate you want to go to Barking, oh right go over the bridge here and turn left at the mini roundabout , 5 minutes down that road and you will come to the  A13" says i.

Oh dear it's just gone midnight i seem to have sent you walking towards Ockenden OOPS what a silly bus driver i am.

Rest day

I'm back to work tomorrow for a rest day , i've a nice easy job driving the little van backwards and forwards between the garage and the crew change point. Should be easy money.

We have a new rota change starting this weekend and the only good thing is that our Sunday jobs are a bit shorter. Our two good jobs during the week have been extended so that has upset a lot of people.

I have another week of earlies starting Thursday and i'm only too aware of how moody i became during the last lot i did. So if you start seeing a change in my writing tell me and help me before i go and find someones cat to kick.

Day trip

I have one of those rare moments tomorrow , a rest day. So i'm off for a trip to London to visit the Hannants model shop in colindale.
